1. I'm in my home office, supposedly working...

...but actually blowing off the afternoon pretty thoroughly. I'm an academic scientist so I'm "officially" on winter break (which simply means that the state cuts off the heat and air circulation in my university office and lab to save money). Luckily the electicity there is on so my grad students can stick electric heaters under their desks. I WILL be working tomorrow though, at least partially to make up for not finishing today.

on edit: if any of my grad students read DU-- you know who you are. Why aren't you working? (Cracks the whip)

5. I will be working my first non paid job in 10 years starting next Sat.

I am going to be cooking for a womans shelter. I called them and they want me back.
I am also going to working as a manager in the Cafe at my College but it doesn't pay anything except 3 credit hours and plenty of fun.

7. Present

I'm at work and I have to work tomorrow, I'm a reporter in a small town. The paper has to be done by Sunday, and we have hardly enough articles to fill it. But what irks me is that the layout isn't finnished. It is SUPPOSED TO BE DONE. BUt my fucking lazy-ass coworker has, once again, taken off without doing his job.

I went out to get a pic of a jackknifed semi (that wasn't there) and when I came back he was gone. He did this before christmas and caught shit for it, now he's done it again. I'd never thought I'd be this mean about a someone, especially since we went to college and I'm sure he sweet talked the editor into giving me the job, but I want him fired.
