Backing up DVDs?
Hiya! I want to make duplicates of my DVDs before I lend them out to people (borrow, rather, no $ or sexual favors are involved).

What's the best software to use?

I'd be recording onto DVD+RW medium so I can re-use the disc. No sense in using multiple DVD+R discs when I'm using those for my VHS transfers.

Thanx!

1. I tried this once
Spent fifty bucks on DVD copying software, only to discover that off-the-shelf software can't copy protected DVDs. You can find something on the web called DCSS or something, which used to be able to break the encoding, but I don't think it can anymore.

2. Buy a copy of DVD X-Copy Gold
Makes perfect backup copies. I think I paid around $80 for my copy--you can get it in any computer store, and eBay's a good place to check, too.

6. I like Clone DVD myself
It's better than Xcopy for letting you choose what and what not to include. Like you can leave off the foreign languages, or subtitles, etc.
