The best act of the '80's |
|
U2 brought a lot of substance and good writing to the table. Van Halen revolutionized the guitar.

sold his act to U2, which was then marketed to the mainstream. Check out Brian Eno's "Another Green World" album, and throw your copy of "The Joshua Tree" in the garbage. Seriously. Check it out. And then throw all of your Talking Heads albums into the garbage.

5. One of the best bands of all time....live show was awesome.. |
|
Guess maybe you had to be there. Check out the movie "Stop making sense". Won the academy award for best documentary in 1983. Directed by Jonathan Demme. The band at its best, live. There wasn't a dry seat in the house!

Weird Al was the best overall act. Not anything serious, or deeply insightful in an earthshaking profound thinking kind of way. Some songs were original work and some were parodies. But for overall entertainment value ( without relying on sex or body function or drug humor ) Weird Al is good. He's still around, and on quiet nights ( when the moon is full and shining on the newfallen snow ) on those special nights - on obscure radio stations - you may even here his songs. Collage radio stations mainly.
