God, I wish I had written this!

From today's Hartford Courant:

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Was Charen Describing Dean Or Bush?
January 3, 2004

Mona Charen used some pretty strong language when describing Howard Dean. She called him a liar and a narcissist.

President George W. Bush gave new meaning to the word "narcissist" when he landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln, proclaiming "mission accomplished," while wearing a flight suit. The mission was not accomplished, because there was no post-war plan in place and the war continues to this day. Then there was the denial of the president of having anything to do with the "mission accomplished" banner. Then there was a continuous change of reasons for going to war with iraq in the first place: Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction; was developing WMD; and then, Iraq posed an imminent threat to our country. Oh, yes, Saddam Hussein had ties to Osama bin Laden, and he must have had a part in 9/11. There isn't any proof of any of these reasons being true.

Also, our president doesn't know who leaked the name of a covert CIA agent to the press. If George W. Bush is so respected in matters of public security, surely he could find out this information in a matter of minutes.

"Bring 'em on"? Well, Bush has brought them on, attracting terrorist activity in Iraq and elsewhere on a daily basis since major combat in Iraq was declared over. This wasn't a narcissistic statement?

I support our troops as much as Mona Charen. However, the United Nations and the rest of the world-peace community should have been allowed to continue the plan already in place and, if the situation did not change, Hussein should have been captured and tried by a military tribunal. This war has cost billions of dollars - which does not hold a candle to every American life lost and the mass destruction that has taken place in Iraq because of the war.

I guess this is all OK as long as Halliburton gets its billions in reconstruction money from no-bid contracts. It's about as OK as the phony Thanksgiving turkey provided to the troops by Halliburton for yet another phony photo-op for President Bush.

1. How I hate those images of bush** in that flight suit
That cowardly sneering AWOL deserter, flaunting an artificial "package" to the world. It just makes me cringe. Since when do world leaders strut around as if to say "my jewels are bigger than your jewels"?

Oh yeah? Well, fake jewels usually are bigger than the real thing.

The Tequila Twins must be real proud of their dad. What a shining example he is.
