You know you're from Arizona (most of ti, anyway) when you wear |
|
long pants or skirts in July because otherwise you fry your ass on ANYTHING.

|
you put up Holiday lights wearing a t-shirt and shorts, and take down Holiday lights wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Then, jump in your heated pool. We Loveee It.

North Central Phoenix here, and you?
Three years ago, my dad and my husband were putting lights on the M&Ds house. My husband was indeed in T-shirt and thongs. He took a step backwards, right into their Saguaro cactus.
Really, it wasn't funny (so why am I giggling now?). Poor guy . . .

have got to be weather forecasters in Arizona. They could record a forecast in the middle of May and return at the end of September and hardly anyone would notice.

You know you're in Arizona:
When the traditional New Years "polar bear swim" just doesn't work, because it's 60 degrees at Lake Powell and 80 degrees at Lake Havasu...
When the election returns from CD-1 hinge on the final precinct reporting, which might take a few days because that's how long it takes the mules to pack out the ballot box from Phantom Ranch...
When you're in the only state in the union where the biggest city (Phoenix) is reliably Republican, but the small towns (Bisbee, Jerome, Winslow, Globe, Clifton, Oracle, Window Rock, Douglas etc.) are reliably Democratic...
When the population of your town multiplies by a factor of 10 during the winter, due to the entire mobile population of the United States parking their campers on BLM land in the desert for the winter...
When coyotes and javelinas are a common sight, but deer are not...

Because up here on the Colorado Plateau we had 3 inches of snow and below-freezing high temps the past few days, with single digit wind chills! :scared: :D
I have to beat off the Phonecians up here with a stick come summer... ;-)
