Assuming it was done well. Maybe the Spider-Man people could do it.
Who would you have play the Stark man? I think Brosnan would be good (wrong accent, but would be good). And who would play Dr. Doom?

But it seems he refuses to ever change his hair and beard, and that wouldn't look so much like Stark. I mean, seriously, he looks the same in every stinking movie he does. Is that goatee tattoed on or what?
But yes, fine actor, and could play the wild swings.
I think it's time for an alcoholic superhero on the big screen. And the armor - let's face it - is just @*^$*@^*$# cool. And I always liked Iron Man becuase, just like Batman, he didn't have any weird cosmic ray or mutation or anything - it was all brain and mind (and body for batman). Yeah, Stark has incrediblly powerful armor, but it's armor he DESIGNED, not grew/mutated into/had the government permanently adhere to his body.
Captain America, too, was all brawn and brain (except for the government added skeletal system).

...was attached to the Iron Man project for a while, I believe. He's a big comics fan--he took his stage surname from Luke Cage.
I think Cage would be a great choice as Tony Stark/Iron Man. He can pull off the alcoholic playboy type pretty well, and Iron Man isn't a superhero who needs a buff physique.

CGI now makes it possible, but PLEASE, help the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing not look as cheesy as The Hulk!
If they could make the FF as good as the two X-Men movies, I would be very very happy indeed.
I'd also love a Legion of Super Heroes miniseries, based on the early 90's stories written by Tom and Mary Bierbaum.

I see that the Punisher will be out in April, but he was never a fave... I saw the stinker straight-to-video one 12 or so years ago... phew!
Yeah, the LSH has had so many revisions and continuity mishaps, that it would be damn near impossible. But I had to single out the Bierbaum storyline from a decade or so ago, still the best modern treatment given to my childhood favorite group (JLA was #2, then the FF, and X-Men).
I love Marvel and DC equally, because it is like saying one buffet item is better than the other...

The only thing to make a Wonder Twins movie more awesome would be a cameo by Black Vulcan. He shoots lightening out of his ass! (or something....)

34. JSM= the name of the guy who wrote Babylon 5 |
|
and who now writes Amazing SM. Aunt May found out that Peter was SM, and the way that it was handled will remain a classic for comics for decades.
(I'm selling it short, but you find out that she's hurt by him keeping a secret from her that big. She's hurt by his lack of trust in her. It's a very character driven piece. She's not the "frightened" Aunt May of years past, but it makes 100% sense in which the way the character is written and the series direction these days.)

except the occasional pickup, but haven't followed Spidey at all. I thought Aunt May died a few years ago?
Spider Man was always one of my favorite superheroes because his stories were so people-driven and -centric. Some of the best writing in comics just in terms of truly being about people. I appreciated the reality of Peter's financial problems and love problems and everything else (including selling picgtures of himself to a man who hated him as a way of earning a living). Loved it when he married Mary jane! Woo hoo! But I really thought Aunt May had died a few years ago from sickness.

after all the Clone shit. Aunt May found Peter beaten up in his appartment one day. It all came to a head where she reveales something about the day that Peter became SM and he reveales that he's SM. CLASSIC STUFF.
Peter is now teaching high-school and watching over the area near his neighborhood, like Daredevil ( who has been "outted" and taken over Kingpin's turf).
Comic are evolving, and those who were once interested in the genre should take notice. It's not "nuff said" anymore.

44. I wish I could have kept up with the comics |
|
I was a serious comic reader for a good ten years or more, but after heading off to grad school and having no money, I had to stop buying them (I was up to like $50-75 a month, back in '92). Then, once I started earning income that I could buy them again, the price had gone up and I had no time to read them nor space to store them... so just never got back into it. Though my friend in the comics biz has kept me abreast of Flaming Carrot, Will Eisner's stuff (I *love* Eisner!), and a few other items. But I often really do miss the comics - I always loved comics as a kid, and then as a seriously collecting adult. And I really loved where Marvel was going, with more "real" kinds of stories, darker edged and serious (including that year or so of Iron Man wherein Marvel had the balls to have their superhero hanging out drunk on skid row getting a prostitute pregnant - you won't see DC pulling that stunt. And what was up with John Byrne's redo of Sueprman? Did that totally suck after three issues or what? Sheesh). I left comics soon after they became real popular and comic publishers were publishing every book with "Four different collector covers, some holographic!!!!!!!!" Thank God that ended.
And now Cerebus is finishing with issue #300, but I stopped reading that after it stopped having a storyline. By golly, I still have my first issue - #28!

Not the Tartakovsky cartoon, but the 16th(?) century piece of Chinese literature about a monkey king and his adventures on his journey westward.
The original kung fu story.
It's what Dragonball was based on. The Saiyan saga of which would probably also make a good movie.

45. Must have colorful costumes, dang-blangit! |
|
At this point, I'm willing to settle for almost anything in which the superheroes do not all dress in black leather all the time. Even the Bob Burden characters wore black leather when they got a movie. The joy of the superhero genre - for me, at least - lies in the bright colors. I liked the X-Men movie, but I kind of felt like I was sitting through someone's idea of what a fan of Tim Burton's Batman would want from the story and the characters. I would prefer something less Burton, more Adam West. Or ElectraWoman and DynaGirl. Colorful. Hmm. If there is just a general anti-spandex movement behind all of this black leather business, perhaps body painting could be considered as an alternative.
