My desk is FINALLY built!!!!

I cannot believe how a pile of wood and metal has almost reduced me to tears, repeatedly.

Turns out the drill, which was a major hassle in and of itself, wasn't of much help because it wouldn't fit in the spaces in the braces. Then I tried to stand it up before it was ready and bent a metal brace and broke three of the

But, I have overcome. I AM the master my domecile. I have a new desk! Sorry for being so vocal about my silly home improvement project, but I shed blood over this thing. (Really, I stabbed my thumb with a screwdriver and it started bleeding.)

Well, time to re-arrange the furniture. I'll post a picture when I'm done so you can admire my handy (wo)man skills. Yeah, right. :eyes:

BTW, wasn't a total waste. I watched the Dem debate while I worked. I thought Edwards did well.

8. I got screwer's elbow once.

From putting together a 12' X 15' kit greenhouse.
Had to wear one of those tennis elbow braces for weeks.
I'm serious.

My worst so far was several years ago. A sheet metal charcoal grill that came KD with about 100,000 sheet metal screws. Sharp edges all over the place.
Went beyond band-aids to actual transfusion.
OK...NOW I'm kidding.

Congratulations on your final success.

Although I have never attempted anything as complicated as furniture, I have had my share of tear and blood wrenching gardening projects like constructing raised beds, compost bins and such. I'm getting up the courage to think of building a greenhouse and shed.
