Any of you guys ever try "Be Calm'd"? |
|
It's a nurtitional supplement, supposedly treats a myriad of mental/stress related issues (including ADD). I've only just begun reading about it, and I can't decide whether or not it's *too good to be true*. Just wondered if anyone had any experience/input.
Thanks! :hi:

I don't usually do the formulations. I try one ingredient at a time and see how it goes. Maybe it hasn't been such a good idea though. I've tried melatonin, kava kava, valerian, and chamomile with no result. However, reactions to herbs or chemicals seems to be very individual because I know other people who swear by one or more of these.

6. I buy most of those ingredients in bulk |
|
Good stuff to take anyway, but I'm always skeptical of hype. It's usually cheaper to buy the stuff separately.
My favorite source for info on supplements is www.lef.org

3. Personally, I'll try getting sugar out of the diet and meditation.... |

Both have a better proven track record and don't cost lots of money. Then again, for me to relax from any drug/herbal would probably require anesthesia! LOL

Your mileage may vary, of course, but it has an incredible calming effect on me about 90 minutes after I take 1500mg of mixed Siberian and Korean ginseng -- readily available dirt cheap (less than $4 for 75 capsules) at your favorite discount store.
At the newspaper these days, I'm taking a lot of ginseng. :(

on edit: Passionflower tincture, as well as valerian, both easily grown here in my area in the south, have a very soothing and hypnotic effect and is used by many for a sleep aid. I grow tons of passionflower (it's coming up everywhere on its own from my original plant) and would gladly pass along a plant or two of it if you want to give it a go. It's is a very hardy vine for 3 seasons, makes a very beautiful and unique flower, and only needs minimal protection in the winter. Valerian, which i haven't grown but know others that do, is pretty easy to grow also.
