The high temp was 50, a great day to be outside fishing.

17. One of my friends has a house in which the backyard slopes down to the bayou.
It has a sandy beach and trees.

This is inner city fishing and you can't keep the fish but we let them go.

Not many people know but we have some fine bayou fishing down here.

Our bayous were treated as sewers for years but now the bayous are clean and wildlife and fish have returned.

We have all kinds of fish, big ones.

We have some big catfish.

Today was fun.

24. I not sure what kind catfish they are, but they are big.
The bayous were treated as sewers for many years, everything is clean now.

The fish look fine, I have even cut some open to check them out.

I just don't know how safe the fish would be, but I don't think they are any worse then the fish from Lake Houston.

38. The gators in the bayou eat the fish and they are just fine.
It is a shame that the bayous were treated so badly.

People used to eat the fish, my old neighbor went swimming and fishing all time when he was a kid.

The water at one time was very smelly but that was years ago.

The water is now clear in many places, with lots of wildlife.

We have a little cottage on a small lake 20 miles south, and this weekend is a big fishing event. Temps will be in the single digits tomorrow and hovering around zero on Sunday. The winds will be howling bringing wind chills WAY below zero. :scared: I wanted to go down and just check it out...but I think not. There's a web cam --I'll check it out from here. I may not even go out at all.

15. I will. I just had one of those great personal moments:
I had the heat on 60 and I'm in the living room. I was wondering why it was so damn cold in here. Then, as I sat back with my glass of wine, I looked up and realized that my vent was closed (I close them as I go from room to room to safe the heat).

Naturally, I laughed to myself:)

usually outside a couple times between 11 and midnight in tank top, fanning myself. Might just go on the back porch tonight though. Things keep blowin over out there. We might wake up in Nebraska if this keeps up.

Edited to add: Too many days last summer when we were hotter than Tucson. That is NOT fair! I REALLY have to stay inside during summer. It is horrible here in summer.

70. Zero right now,
with a wind chill factor of -13F. We're under a wind chill advisory for the weekend. I think I'm staying put.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN VERY COLD AIR TEMPERATURES... AND WINDS OF 10 MPH OR GREATER...CREATE HAZARDOUS WIND CHILL VALUES OF BETWEEN 15 BELOW TO 34 BELOW ZERO.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE...AND COULD LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA... IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU VENTURE OUTDOORS...WEAR SEVERAL LAYERS OF CLOTHING.

80. -26,... wind chill -49 in ND
I woke up with sore muscles in my shoulders, stepped outside with a ziploc bag, filled it with snow, voila, instant ice bag. I have had it on my back for 30 minutes and the snow still has not melted. The snow, when I step on it, feels like styrofoam.

81. Morgantown WV: 14°F (wind chill 6°F)...
Getting up to a balmy 24°F today, and then we're under a "wind chill warning" tonight, because it's getting down into single-digits, and expected winds are going to be around 20 mph.

In other words... baby, it's cold outside...

82. 26 in Arlington, Virginie
I liked it better when the temps were milder this winter. I'm tired of dressing for deep space when I go out pedalling.

We strarted with a mild winter, finally turning normal. While in New Zealand, it's been the inverse. A cold, wet summer that finally warmed up. Enough that a legislator wants to extend their daylight savings so people can enjoy the warmer temps in the evenings.
