List it here: Gadgets you bought that sounded cool but don't work. |
|
Here's my recent waste of money: A sweater shaver. I always just used a disposable razor to remove pilling from sweaters. Thought I'd save some time and buy a sweater shaver..20 minutes of "shaving" later and I had exactly 5 small tufts of fuzz in the receptacle. What a piece of SH*T.

13. I haven't seen one yet that gave a truly close shave... |
|
unless you count the "epilady" that just ripped the hair out by the roots.

2. a five dollar nose hair trimmer |
|
worked great for the first five uses, then the batteries started to fade and the dull blades began to grab and YANK
If you are going to spend money on a nose hair trimmer; spend a few more dollars, and keep good batteries on hand.

21. I actually cried and had to explain to someone what had just happened |
|
I was pouring tears and my brother was getting upset and worried that I had seriously hurt myself. I started laughing and continued to pour tears.

4. cheap $10 electric hair trimmer (another shaver!) |
|
tried to use it to shave a dog that needed stitching up - bwahahahaha yeah that worked real well
virtually ANYthing from radioshack. Why is that and why are they still in business? (And more importantly why do I keep falling for their crap? - though not in at least a couple of years)

8. A sandwich sealer thingy from Pampered Chef. |
|
It's suppose to seal the edges of the sandwich while cutting off the crusts. The sandwich kind of looks like a flying saucer when you are done. It never ever worked right for me.

10. and pampered chef stuff is NOT cheap... |
|
I've got quite a few pampered chef foibles lining my pantry. The bread tins immediately spring to mind. I never was able to keep them from sticking, or rusting.

get an accurate measurement to save your life.

all my measuring cups are moveable.
One bolted to the countertop wouldn't be very useful. :P

24. I had those but never used them. |
|
I think I sold them at a garage sale. The other one that was bad was their wonderful food chopper. My kids saw one like it on TV that they were chopping ice cubes in. Well, apparently the Pampered Chef one doesn't do ice cubes because when my kids tried ice cubes in it all the blades bent and it was ruined.

One thing, when doing PB and J is not to fill it up too much. Same with turkey and cheese and mayo that BabyMidlo loves.

Only the outside elements work. So you have to cook the toast on one side. Then turn it around and toast the other side. It's never worked right.
