Poll question: Should I have a martini, clean the apartment, or answer my mail?
What do you think?

And what should I do about dinner? I don't really have anything, except a nice batch of veal broth, but nothing to put in it. Oh, I just realized, I have a porterhouse steak in the fridge. But the kitchen is dirty, so I'd have to do a bunch of cleaning before I can cook, and I'm not really in the mood for that. (It's been a whirlwind last four days with a conference and other things, so a lot has not gotten done - normally I keep a pretty darn clean kitchen and apartment).

(p.s. - I love the new spell checker! Tres cool)

2. No pimento olives, but I have black olives, with the pits
(I don't do pitted olives, since my local grocery makes their own INCREDIBLE olives, without lye, and I really like their black ones).

Thanks! Screw the laundry. I have clothes for two more days. :-)

6. In that case, make it straight Vodka, with a black olive.
I want to shop in your grocery.

All we have is a super market, and the only olives that are suitable for martini's are Goya.

It is depressing, but copious amounts of gin & vermouth make it ok.

7. Sadly, I am out of vodka
though I've been meaning to get some.

It's just not your night at the Rabrrrrrr bar.

I will totally miss my grocery store when I leave NY - they have everything I love: their own coffee roaster, their own olive guy, four different kinds of freshly sliced proscuitto at the deli counter, hanger steaks and organic beef, ducks, rabbit, incredibly fresh and tasty seafood, a wonderful bakery, their own brand of delicious olive oil, a phenomenal produce section, and an amazing selection of imported artisan cheeses. Everything Zabars has, and more, and for about 30% less than that overpriced yuppieville store.

4. Damn the martini --
Have a nice dry sherry -- Sandeman Character is nice -- and go out for dinner. Fried oysters, I would think, on a spinache salad, at the White Dog, and creme brule after.

Oh, you're out of money, too? And not in West Philadelphia? You poor, deprived dollink.

5. Have a martini,
Clean the apartment, - then have another martini. Then read and answer the mail and have another martini.

Have two, they're small.

8. That's so logical and pragmatic,
part of me doesn't like it...

but part of me does!

I'll mail you a martini when I'm done.

and just hung out on DU, though I didn't make a martini til now, and I've cleaned nothing except for washing out the martini glass and now I'm watching the second appendix of the Two Towers extended DVD.

Ooops.
