Easternmost and Westernmost points you've been?
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 09:45 PM by ih8thegop
We've seen the northernmost and southernmost points to which people have traveled:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=619626

Now it's time to find out our longitudinal extremities. :-)

West: Phoenix (112 deg 6' W)
East: Indian Head, MD (77 deg 10' W)z

OR... have you crossed the International Date Line?

2. Not sure about the longitudes
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 10:01 PM by TheZoo
Furthest West was San Diego / Anaheim (I've only lived in Nevada for 7 years, I still have trouble getting people to the Hoover Dam)

Furthest East is St. John, New Brunswick - I remember having to set my phone forward by 4 hours (Atlantic Standard Time - go figure). I have pictures somewhere of the Bay of Fundy, but can't figure out how to post them.

Edited because I wrote "Logitudes" - I've been in IT too long :-)

3. In the US?
East would be the Maine Coast. West would be Hawaii.

In the world (and now this may seem a little odd) the farthest west I've been is China -- to get there from Chicago, I flew west -- and the farthest East I've been is the city formerly known as East Berlin -- I traveled west to get there.

8. Golan Heights to Chinese Army Base..
The furtherest east I've been...so far is on the Golan Heights in 1969, near the Syrian border after graduating from college and taking trip to Israel.

Furthest west was 20 km southwest of Beijing in 2002. Visited North Star bus factory which is on an old Chinese Army facility...

Goal is India some day.....

Beijing is east of the Golan Heights and west of the Dateline. Beijing may have been the furthest east you've been, even if you had to travel west to get there.

27. This is very confusing.
If you are westbound and cross the international dateline, are you now east?
The compass still says "W".
What about coming the other way?
This makes my head hurt.
OK...from New York I've been as far east as Bombay.
Or is it Mombai now?
This isn't helping my head.
From New York again, I've been as far west as Tokyo.
But that's east.

Give it up already! "blah blah blah the earth is really round blah blah blah" coming from ya all the time...like a broken record, which I'll point out is flat, thus proving that the earth couldn't be round, otherwise records would be spherical, duh.

They're trying to be the next Branson, but I don't think there's anything particularly Bible-thumping about the place. Gaudy, tacky, and beneath contempt as they are, I think this is one accusation that MB can dodge.
