Secret non-sexual fetish's
Mine is well made machinery. I think being a retired journeyman machine repairman has something to do with it? Our old washing machine seized up Christmas day, and my wife wanted a front load washer to replace it. It was delivered last Friday. I have washed everything in the house but the cats and the dogs just so I could watch and hear it run. I find the sights and the sounds of a front loading washing machine with a window to watch everything spinning at 1200 RPM pretty damn amazing.

2. 1200 RPM
At 1200 RPM, it's a good thing your attraction is non-sexual.

7. Thanks
I f**king love it

Its a G&L, which is the company Leo Fender started as a custom shop after he left Fender.

Its essentially a Stratocaster, but it has a maple fretboard that is really smooth and really fast. Plus, it retails for around $500 (but I get a great discount from work) and it is comparable to Fender's American Series, which retail for about $1,000.

I was playing it through a really old Epiphone tube amp on New Years, and it sounded really good.

But, i just got a new Ibanez JS1000, the Satriani model. (His neck specs, his pickups, his bridge). Yeah, new instruments are a big kick for me. This one, oh man, oh man, oh man. I'm playing better because of this guitar.

Will I put Syd Barrett mirrors on it? Woody Guthrie epithets towards fascists? Who can say? :)

16. I suppose that mine is also guitars.............
A better way of putting it might be to say, "Guitar based Power-Pop music."

But you certainly need to have a nice, or several nice guitars to make that happen.

Here's a pic of my latest:

Mine is tobacco-burst though. Got an SG and Tele and an Epi Les Paul and a couple of other acoustics in the house, including a 3/4 Yamaha.

Then of course, there's the amps, I've got 4, and some pedals.....

You know how it goes.

18. Thought You Hated Pedals! No?
Thought you were one of those "straight into the amp" purist types. Did i read that wrong another time?

4 Amps, huh? Same as me! One of them is just a little 8W practice deal though. So, maybe it's more like 3.5 of them. Guitars, i've got 7 and 2 basses.

More than i need. Fewer than i want. It just never ends, does it?

22. I just don't like the Swiss Army Knife type pedals.
The ones that combine all sorts of FX. Or the modeling pedals, besides the POD. But I'd prefer not to go that way.

But right now I've got a DS-2 and an old Zoom pedal in my FX loop. The only thing I use the Zoom for is a little compression and the tuner.

But you're right, I'm not a big pedal freak. Having said that, my new amp has 16 different types of DSP built in. Is that cheating?????

24. Yes. Yes It Is
That's cheating. Me, i play through a Boss PW-10 wah, into the Boogie, and then effects loop that into a TC Electronic digital reverb unit. That's it.

Pretty pure a set up for a fully MIDI'd multikeyboardist.

My bass is just direct to the amp. Now, that's purism! Well, almost. I have a 5 string bass.

25. OK. But Digital Tremolo is really cool.
As well as the simulated Leslie sound.

There's no pre-programming the Amp DSP though. You have to turn the selector knob and adjust the rate/speed dial every time you change the setting. The only thing on the amp pedal is an On/Off SW.

So I'm only half-cheating, really.

9. Star Wars and Legos
And the great thing is they they now have special Star Wars Lego sets so I can feed both my fetishes at once.

I have nearly every Star Wars Lego set - some of which are HUGE like the "Ultimate Collectors Series X-Wing, Tie Interceptor, Blockade Runner and Snowspeeder."

They drive my wife crazy because they're in our bedroom (no other place to put them).

15. Watching dancing of almost any kind...
Tap, Ballet, Modern, you name it. I am female and I prefer watching men because of the strength they have - higher leaps and beautiful muscle tone. My favorites are watching old Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly musicals....they just don't make them like they used to.

20. Rusted Americana.
I can stand and look at a rusted tractor or an abandoned drive-in movie theater for hours. It fascinates me to see the Ghosts of Vacations Past such as a boarded-up amusement park, and it gives off a palpable melancholy to observe the silence and decay where once there were crowds and laughter.

During the early 80's I had a photo exhibit of rust bowl stuff from Appalachia which I titled "Reagan's Fault" or something like that. Been clicking lens at dilapidation ever since.
