How can I get rid of "Runtime Error: Do you wish to debug" popups??
On certain websites that I use every day, this annoying (!!!!!) thing comes up on EACH page! When I click 'yes', the screen goes to DOS, and some file (or whatever) is shadowed in yellow, but I can't do anything with it, as the screen is locked. I'm not a computer whiz in any sense of the word, but can someone tell me an EASY way to debug, or whatever it wants me to do??

Also, is there a way to get rid of the Macropedia 7 advertisement popup?? I even see it now in DU pages.

THANKS!!!!!

1. Easy
One, download Google toolbar (free) at www.google.com scroll down to tools, download to desktop, double lick and install. Once installed, under options, uncheck everything except pop up blocker.

Next, to fix the debugging problem. When internet explorer is open again, under tools, internet options, go to advanced tab and click "disable script debugging".

There ya go.:=)

2. try this

Open the IE options and select the "advanced " tab.
Uncheck the "show skript errors" checkbox and check the "disable script debugging" (or similiar) checkbox.

On Edit: I'm working with a German Windows (Hey, it's free for students) , so take the "or similar" serious. One option should be something like "show errors" (uncheck it), one should close to "disable debugging" (check it) .

2nd Edit: simply follow reply #1.

3. Spybot to the rescue
You need to run Spybot. Download at http://www.safer-networking.org/

Even though goggle blocks a lot of popups (love that feature) you have things tracking what you are doing and sending you banners and pop ups from your activity.

Run this program to clean up those annoying things.

5. Download Mozilla: Firebird, that's how. 10x better than IE.
Firebird is the stand alone internet client, its pop up blocking is stellar, it supports themes and tabbed browsing, as well as many other useabilty features not supported by IE. And its fast. The full Mozilla has a lot of add in programs that slow it down a bit. Firebird both loads faster and loads pages faster than IE.
