Anyone ever voted Republican and regret it?
Why am I asking this? Well I saw a thread on the GD forum that asked a delicate question and received a humongous amount of responses. So I am starting this one here in the lounge with a "lighter" question..." But I want a LOT OF ANSWERS....lol

1. Yes
When I was young and stupid, before I started thinking about things. Then I grew up and actually formed opinions of my own, instead of mindlessly accepting what I was told.

Instant left wing Democrat, once I started that process.

3. Growing up in a small town
In the small town I grew up in, everyone was a Republican. Everyone loved Reagan. I turned 18 just before Reagan's second term and *gulp* voted for Reagan's VP Satan. . .er. . .George Sr.

Then I moved to the big city and gooooollllleeeeee did I growed up!

5. Nope
I voted in the TX primary for 2000 for John McCain and have never looked back. I hated having that damn red Republican stamp on my VR card, but it was worth it to have one more Texas vote against GWB* in his own home state.

17. I did the same thing!
I felt like they knew I wasn't a Republican when I walked into the polling place and asked for a Republican ballot, but I was so happy to register a vote in *'s backyard for McCain.

8. I only voted for a Republican once
Jack Danforth, for senator from Missouri. I did it because he was ethical. Since then I have even voted against a Republican who was running unopposed. I voted for the Democratic slot (which was blank) and left it blank to prove a point.

10. I was raised Republican
So yes, I have voted Republican more times than I like to admit.

However, the older and smarter I get the more I regret my brainwashed youth.

*sigh*

13. Yes. Once. A long time ago.
I've admitted it on this forum before, but I am so ashamed of it, I doubt I can admit it again right now. ;-)

15. Once, because I was stupid and deluded.
Voted for the Repub candidate for governor because the Democratic candidate was anti-choice.

Regretted it very soon afterward. Swore I'd never do it again, and I haven't.
