CNN Poll: "Who's happier? Married or single?"
Yes, this is the seminal question on Anderson Cooper right now. :eyes:

I guess I could only observe ... Why is it that folks feel it's necessary to use the adjective "happily" with "married" and not "single"?? How often have you heard someone called "happily single"? Could it be that it's seen as redundant? :silly:

1. Well, given that anyone that admits to being "happily single"

seems to be often berated as a selfish, self-absorbed, child-hating hermit-- or opposite sex hating anomaly, I guess that's why....

An aside... while we fight for gay marriage rights (and should, IMO), so too are we going to have to face the fact that singles who choose to be single are getting the shaft in this current social and economic structure. It is going to be an issue.

3. Hey, you can be a "selfish, self-absorbed, child-hating, hermit"
and be married, you know. Lord knows I am!

4. Frame of reference? I've never been married.
How would I know how happy I'd be?

6. When I talk to my single friends....
I refer to myself as "Happily Married".

But when me and my married friends get together, we talk about the good old days when we were "Happily Single".
