I'm of French Canadian heritage and the border isn't that far from where I live, but I've never really understood that whole thing. In grade school, we were taught American history in the morning and French-Canadian history in the afternoon. (I kid you not). But I still don't really get it. What are the origins of the conflict? (If you don't feel like talking about it, I'll just shut up).

I lived in gated community in Homestead, FL where most of residents were seasonal residents from Canada. They were lovely people and I loved to party with them. Unfortunately, most of them left because of those hurricanes that started hitting Florida in 2004 thru 2005. We had 3 flags waving...USA, Florida and Canada flags out there, but Canada flag got taken out because they are no longer there. My next door neighbors were Canadians and I loved them! It was sad when they left. I have since left as well to live in Arkansas.
