8. Back when I was a teenager,

there was a very popular diet drug(can't remember the name),that everybody was taking. This woman that lived by my aunt started taking it, but she decided to take more of it than was recommended. Not a good idea. She kept right on taking it, even after her symptoms got really bad. She must have been allergic to it, plus taking too much of it. All they could do was keep her wrapped up in sheets, and keep her doped up. Absolutely senseless way to die. :(

9. I had a similar reaction to amoxicillin for a sinus infection

big blisters in my mouth and on my tongue, and the tissue sloughing off --very painful. I couldn't talk or eat. They stopped the acute reaction with intravenous steroids, but it took months to heal--I still get outbreaks; apparently this kind of autoimmune disease becomes chronic, but with remissions. I can't tell you how much this article has scared me.

But thanks...the condition is so rare and weird that nobody knows much about it. It was good to hear about how she and her doctors beat back the attack.
