what comedians should i add to my comedy library?
i already have the holy trinity
Pryor, Carlin, Cheech&Chong
and i got robin williams, murphy, rock.
but i want to get some of newer comics
i have been reading margaret cho's blog and she is awesome
so she is on the list of must have along with dave chapell;

1. Bill Hicks!!!!!

My Lord, you have to get some hicks. If you are a DUer he is ESSENTIAL.

Google Sacred Cow Productions and order a tape. Arizona Bay I think is the name...Basically get as much as you can.

Hicks was a DUer, that's for DAMN sure.

Genius....

9. I second
Mitch and Dane. Mario is pretty good also, but Mitch Hedberg is borderline (if not totally) genius, and Dane Cook is completely out of his mind. :D

14. If you can find any of Lily Tomlin's stuff--do it! Joan Rivers has only
one album/cd--What becomes a semi-legend most? Hee-larious.

Also, get all the Monty Python you can!

24. Monty Python
Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 01:07 PM by MrBenchley
One of their albums comes in the liner for a Beethoven symphony (with the title in crayon scribbled over it ); the back cover also has crayoned notes (and the prinnted copy underneath begins discussing Beethoven's symphony but sidetracks into his tennis career).

Another has THREE sides...(one of the sides has two grooves. It will drive you nuts on vinyl, because it's more or less chance as to which groove your needle will drop).

And of course the material is hysterical...Alistaire Cooke being attacked by ducks.....Tiger Club...the Argument Clinic....the British Being Eaten By a Crocodile Olympic Team (where today's champion is tomorrow's crocodile shit; the East Germans are cheating by putting remoulade in their shorts).

I shall have to ask you to listen to this. Take it away, Eric the orchestra leader:

Henry Kissinger
How I'm missin' ya
You're the doctor of my dreams
With your krinkly hair
and your glassy stare
and your Machiavailian schemes
All right, so people say that you don't care
You've still got nicer legs than Hitler
And bigger tits than Cher
Henry Kissinger
How I'm missin' ya
And wishin ya
Were here.....

On Edit: David Cross is pretty good, too.
