There's a tumbleweed storm in the lounge. Where is everybody? |

If things stay this way, I'll have to get up and do some work!

6. I spent too much time here yesterday, and I've got quite a bit of work |
|
piling up. Maybe I should go do it now, and come back here later.

10. That was kind of lame wasn't it? Sorry. |
|
I guess I do honestly feel guilty about neglecting my work responsibilities around here.

8. I don't know... Music. Records. How slow and crappy of a typist I am |
|
I am "the" king of 'hunt and peck' on the keyboard. I got a 'D' in typing when I was in high school. I think the teacher felt sorry for me.

They used to have two courses at my high school, one for "personal typing" (i.e. how to type your own letters and school papers) and then regular business typing.
By the time I got to high school, they had dropped the personal typing and just taught business typing. But it has been useful. We did a lot of those drills where you just practice moving your fingers. W-S-X, W-S-X, etc. with each finger.
After a while you can practice typing on anything, I used to pick pages of my favorite books and type them. It's so easy now on the 'puter b/c you can just not save the file and start over again another day. You don't have to worry about wasting paper like in a real typewriter.

12. No matter how hard I tried, I could always remember the "home keys" |
|
but I still had to look at the keyboard, which you are not supposed to do. You would think that some of it would just happpen naturally without even trying, after you've done it enough. I'm not very coordinated, I guess.
