How To Bathe A Cat and Aviod Costly 9 hr Treatment in the ER

HOW TO BATHE A CAT
===================

1. Thoroughly clean toilet.

2. Lift both lids and add shampoo.

3. Find and soothe cat as you carry him to bathroom.

4. In one swift move, place cat in toilet, close both lids and stand on top, so cat cannot escape.

5. The cat will self agitate and produce ample suds. (Ignore ruckus from inside toilet, cat is enjoying this)

6. Flush toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides power rinse, which is quite effective.

7. Have someone open outside door, stand as far from toilet as possible and quickly lift both lids.

8. Clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and outdoors, where he will air dry.

NOTE: for those literalists out there, I am not suggesting that you actually apply this method, as the cat hair is likely to clog your plumbing and result in an excessive bill from your local plumbing specialist.

And on a related note....

Steve Martin's Cat Bath:

"I gave my cat a bath the other day and wasn't as bad as people told me it would be. I found it quite soothing for myself and I really think the cat enjoyed it. Of course, my toungue was really tired the rest of the day and there was that embarassing hairball incident at work the next morning...."

Just a paraphrase of one his early routines you brought to the forefront of my brain. Thanks for the smile :)

Next time the cat would be on to you and transform into a ripping werecat requiring the donning of a chain mail shirt and gloves.

20. I've never had a problem bathing my cat...
He's weird, and actually doesn't mind being wet. As long as I don't spray him with the shower head (wet him from a bucket full of warm water using a scoop or cup), and keep scratching him the whole time he's in the bathtub, he doesn't fret at all...until he gets out and suddenly becomes cold! :)

21. That's truly amazing! What a great cat! Do you try using a dryer on him?
I didn't even dare try that with Rhiannon, though she was so good about so much. My dogs even aren't thrilled with the dryer.
