What is your favorite frozen pizza?
Last night I had a Red Baron Deluxe. It wasn't too bad. I wonder if there are any others worth a try. TIA.

1. DiGiornos(sp)
I know I misspelled it, but it's the pizza with the tag line "It's not delivery...it's DiGiornos!"

Great frozen pizza. :-)

2. yeah, DiGiorno and Freschetta
Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 02:08 PM by KCDem
Frozen pizza these days is SOOOO much better than it was when I was a kid in the 80s. I remember those frozen cardboard circles with fake pepperoni... ew!

Frozen is so good these days that I've stopped ordering out. I can't in good conscience; Papa John's gives all their $ to the Repugs, and that used to be my favorite 'za.

3. Frozen 'Za has syre come a long way!
Most with the "rising crust" option tend to be pretty decent. Like the ones mentioned above.

5. Bad pizza I am addicted to
Made by Jewel foods. Thin and crispy sausage or deluxe. Gives me heart burn every time. But good. Nobody else seems to like it. I am strange.

6. The stuff at Trader Joe's rocks!
The stuff at regular grocery stores is vastly improved over the old days, but it still can't touch the stuff at Trader Joe's, which sells for about the same price.

10. Yeah, Tyson took over the sausage factory in my old home town.
Edited on Sat Jan-10-04 07:11 PM by HuckleB
They are truly the scum of the scum of corporate America. On edit, dang. Jefferson is my old home town, which is where Tyson is pulling its ugliness.

It doesn't appear that Trader Joe's uses Tyson pepperoni, however. On edit, it appears that it's Kraft products (DiGiorno's, Jack's, Tony's, and Tombstone) that use Tyson pepperoni. So Freschetta might be OK, as well.

Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Dominos also use Tyson pepperoni.

It's really good, and it's the only frozen pizza I've found that doesn't contain garlic. (I can't eat garlic.)

27. Stouffer's cheese, with my own toppings
I pile on fresh mushrooms and green peppers. Darn good.

I don't care for these new fangled, rising wannabees. Especially when I can get the Pizza Hut buffet for the same price.

I only buy frozen when something basic like Stouffer's cheese or Tony's cheese is on an unbeatable sale price, and I can dump on my own fresh toppings instead of the flimsy crap that normally comes with the frozen varieties.

22. Please boycott DiGiorno's, Jack's, Tony's, and Tombstone Pizza.
Sorry to bring this up again, as it was already touched on earlier in the thread. But these brands use Tyson pepperoni. Currently, Tyson is treating its employees like cattle. See http://www.tysonfamiliesstandup.org/index.cfm for more information.

Tyson is truly the scum of the scum of corporate America. Please stand in solidarity with your fellow citizens on this one.

Also, please stay away from Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Dominos. They also use Tyson pepperoni.

Red Baron has come a long way... their pizzas actually taste... good! Not just good, pretty damn good, for a frozen one. Hope they don't have Tyson pepperoni, but FWIW.
