Seriously though, I've been sick all week, and on Friday, I lost my voice. I should have taken a day off from work earlier in the week so I could recover, but I was so busy I thought it would be better to fight my way through, rather than fall behind. So here I am a week later, still sick as a dog, and with no voice to boot. I tried to order food over the phone today, and the guy at the other end literally couldn't understand a word I was saying. I guess I'll just try and rest my voice tomorrow, because I'm going to need it for Monday.

Anybody got any good home remedies they can recommend? Besides getting into a time machine and taking a day off work earlier this week?

2. Warm Wiler's lemonade

Yep. Sounds nasty as heck (and it is) but the citric acid* helps cut the phlegm. Nuke it after it is mixed up or else mix it with warm water and sip on it like you do coffee. Give it about 24 hours and you'll be in much better shape.

*Actually ANY lemon juice or even orange juice will work. If you want to avoid a lot of sugar you could probably use warm tea with a lot of lemon in it and be ok. Amazing how folk remedies and "granny cures" can really work--eh?
