It actually made it to seven degrees here in CT, earlier today.

A couple of hours ago it was fifteen below and dropping here. Tonight's low may fall to more than twenty below.

Strangely enough, minus 40 is the point where the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales meet up. Same coldness, same number on both systems.
That's mighty cold. I've kinda always wanted to hear trees snapping from the cold ever since reading about it as a kid. Did you hear any trees doing the Rice Krispie thing?

12. Four degrees? Time for a motorcycle ride!
Rode my scoot on many a cold day when i lived in Michigan. You just dress like you would for riding a snowmobile. Nice and toasty and comfy! Of course, it takes you fifteen minutes to get ready to ride and five to get to the point where you look like something other than the Michelin Man!
