Ever just felt down right ugly?
I can't stand to look in a mirror! I just keep exercising and watching what I eat and hope for the best!

7. Did you find that having a giant hole in your basement added
a mold problem?

3. OH yeah.
but wait a day or two and it'll pass. it's a human condition thing i think. kudos to you for exercising and eating right. it's the best you can do for yourself. whenever i get in that "can't look in the mirror" mode, my sister tells me just look outward. it works! strength is beauty, anyway!

5. Every morning, brotha. Every morning.
I'm one of those people that can squeeze by in the looks category with some serious attention to hygiene, diet, and fashion, but I'm a 2 on days when I ignore it.

8. No but then again I'm a pretty boy.
When you always have people telling you how good looking you are it's hard to hate yourself. What's that old country song? "Oh Lord it's hard to be humble"? My Mom used to always sing that to me. LOL.

11. You'll feel better as you get older
When I was in my teens and early 20's, I used to pick apart every litle flaw I had. Now at almost 32 (yikes 32! :scared: ), I realize that while I will never be "perfect", nor will every man in the universe find me attractive, I am a pretty decent looking women.
If you keep taking care of yourself, as you say, it does pay off. I stay out of the sun, get enough nutrients in my diet (even when I was fatter, I ate healthy, just too much junk in addition to it), drink minimally, and don't smoke. I'm starting to notice these days that I'm looking a lot better than some of my female contemporaries.

19. I agree.
I used to be totally down on my looks and my shape/size. I'm currently not as skinny as I used to be, but I know I look good to most men. Working out will help you, LF, by making you feel better about your body. Just knowing that you can crush a skull with your thighs is power!

17. This is a constant struggle for me
Strangely, when I was young I always believed my mother who said that I was an ugly freak. I accepted this although I felt that people didn't treat me as well because I was an ugly freak and that was why the guys that I wanted, didn't want to date me in high school.
When I got to college, I still didn't really care what I looked like. I was making good friends and doing lots of cool stuff. Looking back, there were some guys that were probably interested in me more than friends but I didn't really notice much. My sophomore year, I began dating my husband who seems to think that I am extremely attractive although I don't know why.
Now I just turned 26 and I want to be beautiful. I wasn't as attractive at 18 as I am now and didn't think that I could be beautiful then when everyone else was so concentrated on being attractive. I know that I'll start getting old soon and already have a couple of slight lines. I will never be as attractive as I am now (or soon) and I still feel like an ugly freak.
I suppose that it doesn't help that I work with guys who are always commenting on how attractive some woman is or how other women are fat and/or ugly. I wonder what they say about me because they are always commenting on nearly every woman's looks. While I don't really want them seeing me as a visual sex object, I don't really want them to be making fun of how ugly I am either.
Why does everyone care about how women look? Men look how they want to look and do not really care unless they cannot seem to find any woman to be with or that small children run from them in fright.

18. All the time. :-(
I don't like to look in mirrors, either. It's really debilitating. I'm literally incapable of having a romantic relationship (even if the other person is the first to express interest) because I'm so convinced that I'm not "good enough" for her. I've also gone through periods of severe depression because of it, where I don't even leave my house.

In junior high school, I was anorexic. It was especially hard because many people refused to believe (and still refuse to believe) that there are male anorexics.

20. I did when my ex told me that I was ugly and physically repulsive...
when she was in the process of leaving me for an internet lover. She never mentioned it for the 17 years we were married, but when the money got tight she saw an escape and used that for an excuse for her flight. I felt downright ugly and did for a couple of years afterward.
Now I'm over it. I look like a God!!

22. Nah. You're dang cute. Any cuter, and you would be
a distraction to co-workers, other motorists, and assorted passers-by. Children hang around you, animals love you, and you smell good.

So there.
