When's the last time somebody left DU?

And announced it here in the lounge, only to get a mix of responses which are generally summed up in one of three categories:

Category 1:

"Why are you leaving? We like you! Don't go!"

Category 2:

"Good luck, we'll miss you!"

Category 3 (by far, the worst category, and the one that makes all DUers look vile):

"Bye-bye! Be sure to tip the doorman after he closes the door! Don't come back now, ya' hear?"

I wonder how many more have left but didn't bother to say goodbye... which is worse for us because many who do leave tell us why they're leaving and what they think is wrong...

Why do I care, they're gone? I just do. Excessive compassion has always been a weak point of mine...


On edit: And I also should add that those who are rude to those leaving sometimes have a point; the one leaving isn't always happy either and could be "burning briges". I apologize if I'd burned any bridges in my post here... (I left it intact)

But, agree, it's sad when some never come back and they didn't say goodbye. There used to be threads in the lounge about "whatever happened to........?"

I don't know when the last one of those threads was here. Maybe it's time to do one since it's the New Year. Sort of a memorial for those who've departed and aren't under a tombstone.

I got your drift! :D I didn't take in the theory that they might be pulling a stunt. Ditch one name for another...

Well, I ditched my old name but I left a post and had a sig line under my new name for a few weeks saying who I was...

they aren't there. Does this mean they were tombstoned and we don't keep the profiles of those banned?
