Remember before the intranet. How nice was it? |
|
I know it's a strange thing to hear from one who is on DU often. But I look back fondly to the days when I had to go places to get information, records, find out about jobs...etc.
No internet started getting big when I was about 16. Before that I can't imagine what a pain it would have been to register for college, find hotels in far away places...etc
Anyone else remember?

2. I started using what was to be called the "Internet" back in 1984. |
|
Before then was the 1970s. The 1970s sucked.

3. I used to go to the library at least once a week |
|
and was usually able to find texts about the info I was after, texts that were 10 or more years out of date. Got my news from the local newspaper that I can only assume didn't report the real news, just like today. The Internet is a miracle IMO.
