5. Nope- on this side of the border |

Dad voted Liberal in every election, but switched to the Tories after what Trudeau did to the country. Mom was a diehard proponent of the secret ballot.

6. Both were Republicans and were willing to give cash. |

But I will say this, they were not Bush Republicans. What he has done to the GOP is just beyond me.Do not let me start on this.

that whole side of my family is Dem.
My Dad is a registered Repuke, so is Grandma, but they both voted for Clinton twice. I don't know who they voted for last time. I don't talk to my family much anymore.

Her family is too. She is getting more conservative in her older age (middle age) and her growing affluence. She will always vote Democrat though nationally because a prochoice candidate is very important to her. My dad usually votes Republican. He is more of a Liberatarian though and he said that he had a great admiration for the Kennedys. His parents are Republican.

13. Mom and Dad were Yellow Dogs |
|
They were both union (mom a teacher, dad a refinery worker) and blue-collar Southern stock.
They divorced when I was 16.
Dad's 74 and has been a Republican since Reagan, and there's no turning him back from the Dark Side.
Mom's 77 and goes back and forth; she voted Stevenson (twice), Kennedy, LBJ, Humphrey, McGovern, Carter, Reagan twice, Bush the Elder, Clinton (against Dole) and Bush the Younger.
She's leaning Bush again (but I pummel her every chance I get).

14. My father thought like a repub... |
|
But he always swore that it said in the bible that being a republican was evil. He was more of a southern democrat, I guess...whatever that means. Mom's a republican bitch who seriously is a hypocrite with everything that comes out of her mouth. Duckie

15. All three of them (Tee-hee) were in the GOP |
|
Father, mother, stepmother -- all 'cans. One of my earliest memories was being loaded into the car (along with noisemakers) to ride around Northern New Jersey with other GOLDWATER supporters. A nun at school later told me I was a traitor because my parents had voted for Goldwater.
As Dave Barry would say, I'm not making this up.

19. Dad was a republican except when it came to |
|
Goldwater. Then he voted for Johnson.
My parents fought all the time; and my Dad was physically and emotionally abusive for years. It's a miracle they didn't kill each other. What's even more amazing is they stayed together until my Dad died...39 years of marriage.
I don't think I could stand to be married to a republican, personally. Especially in these times.
