1. Takeshi's Castle
Although since it was in the 80's, I suppose it can't have been.

2. Fear Factor, MBFOF, TSL, ALL of them...
It's not just a sign of desperation to do something new with the medium, they're also being as cheap as possible to keep actors and writers, that cost more than "real" people.

Typical repukes.

Of course, the actors and writers guilds were both planning a strike at the same time; around the time of the original Survivor show. Everybody was hoping "reality" TV would work because this would be the result. :-(

7. Anything with Aaron Brown or Lou Dobbs in it

I love The Simple Life. It is really impressive the way the girls can walk around rural roads in those heels and not fall over.

26. Yeah!
I have a huge problem with all these average-looking people crying their eyes out and getting all these petty little things done when the world is full of horribly disfigured people with no hope of so much as a nose job.

11. Every So-Called Reality Show
The one on NBC on Monday night (Fear Factor?)that makes people eat worms and stuff is probably the one I'd detest most, though. It makes me dismally pessimistic about the future of the human race.

16. thank you
I am sickened by what is passing for entertainment. People, watching people degrade themselves for money should be a PAINFUL EXPERIENCE. You really need to search your soul if you find it entertaining.

13. it's not the shows , it's the commercials
they show the most unreal situations and out right lies

leading the sheeple to believe that if only they buy the correct

products they will be fufilled, happy & successful, all while having

their opinion of what a normal average human being is, warped to the

point that almost no one on the planet is going to measure up.

There's more but basically commercials are more & more short immorallity plays where supposedly great looking people are rewarded
for being selfish & deceptive.

19. All of the above
No one can sing on AI. TSL is a slut-fest. and MBFOF is just plain insulting to fat men. Why are people so scared of not being pc with others (like gays, minorities etc) not that it is a bad thing, but pepole are not pc when it comes to fat people,. The show just piles on the stereotypes, all of which are dead wrong.

End Rant

A few other shows:
-Friends (just plain stupid)
-Jerry Springer (obvious isnt it)

20. That question would be much easier to answer...

...if you rephrased it, "Which TV show do you think does *not* signify the end of civilization as we know it?"

21. A Wedding Story on TLC....
The first time I ran across it, I thought "WTF"???

I suffered through one episode just to see what it was all about and was left with a big giant question mark in my mind....

Who is the programming exec who was boondoggled into thinking THIS was a brilliant concept?

Who would allow an invasion of privacy into their lives like this?

But most of all, I just thought....WHY?

22. I really think the reality shows have hit a low.
I'm not saying there weren't lows back in the early days of TV. I mean there was Queen For a Day. For those who don't know about this show. They got four or five women up there on stage to tell you their hard luck stories. They were supposed to ask for the one thing that would make their lives better and make a case for it.

Most of these women were really desparate. Most of them only asked for things like a refrigerator or beds for the kids that didn't have any, etc.. Then the audience voted for the one they felt made her case. So they got their wish and a few appliances and consumer goods besides that. They had a crown put on them and a queen's cape and a bouquet of roses. Someone took them out to dinner someplace nice and ho-hum on to the next desparate woman.

Of course one never saw a black woman or hispanic or asian, only white desparate women back then. I am so suspicious these day that I often wonder if they weren't paid actresses.
