1. That you for posting what I was about to post
Man, I had to turn down the volume on that game. If I heard them comment one more time about Green Bay being a "Team of Destiny" and their raving about how St. Farve should just be put in the Hall of Fame now even though he's still playing....

well I was about to :puke:

Don't get me wrong, I have alot of respect for Green Bay. They are a talented team and Bret Farve is an incredible QB. I can relate to him losing his father, I lost mine when I was 14 (3 days before the Eagles were last in the Super Bowl) and it does take alot out of you.

But Earth to Fox NFL Sports & Packer Fans:

Just because Farve lost his dad and Green Bay is this "Team of Destiny" does NOT mean they have a free pass to the Super Bowl.

The most deserving team won yesterday. Maybe it's the Eagle's Destiny to win the Super Bowl. That's just my opinion!!!

Pretty shameless, but we showed them....

Lynne, I always know you've got my back on Eagles-related matters!

14. Makes me glad
I don't have a TV and listened to it on the radio. Westwood network. they were completely fair, didn't even sandbag Favre for his interception. Usually football doesn't come across very well on the radio, but this game did.

5. Obvious Eagles MUST be a Team of Destiny
How else can you explain that pansy pass that Farve through in OT. My mother could have intercepted that pass. God MUST have picked us Eagles for destiny and made Farve throw that pass!!

6. Fox Sports-a bunch of homers
they alwas root for the Yankees, Cowboys, Packers, Manchester United, and MacLaren F1 team. It's like a mandatory script to say,"Green Bay will pull this one off!" :eyes: and the one moron on the F1 broadcasts is just as bad as the fools on Faux News :eyes: Thankfully I have a mute button!

8. And we did it without Westbrook and Emmons
Team of Destiny my ass.

Collinsworth was the only one not writing off the Eagles but he was rather faint with his praise....

To Bradshaw I say: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!:dunce:

9. The wingnuts are bummed today
I was listening to the game with a wingnut friend who was rooting for Green Bay. I suspected that this was in part due to Rush limbaugh's comments about Donovan McNabb. I don't know of a single republican rooting for Philly.

Forth and twenty six, a minute left to play, he makes it!!!!!!

Underrated QB? Oh yeah, I forgot, that was back when Rush was a junkie. I wonder what Rush has to say today?

10. Now wait a damn minute
OK, if you Eagles fans want to gloat because (a) the Green Bay defensive coordinator decided to go with an idiotic cover 2 scheme on that 4th and 26 play and (b) Favre decided to be an idiot in overtime, go right ahead. But can we cut this Democrat vs. Republican horseshit?

23. Actually I'm a Jets fan
But since they are out of it, I'll adopt the Eagles to root for.

I sincerely believe that the Eagles picked up a whole bunch of people to root against them because of Rush's comments.

11. I had the last part of the game on,
and I thought, isn't that McNabb, the guy that pigboy was spouting on about? And then I thought about pigboy, What is it like to be wrong ALL OF THE TIME? Must be disheartening, so much so that you would want to escape the pain of being wrong. That about sums up the world of the vulgar pigboy for me.

13. Let them have their fun
Remember, for the entire week leading up to the game, the sports press treated it like it was a foregone conclusion that the Packers were gonna win. They had to listen to shit like "Packers have an angel watching over them, God himself guides Farves passes, the Packers are destined for the SuperBowl". I say let them have their fun rubbing the noses of the people who spouted this bullshit in it.

This is the same crap that Arizona had to deal with in their World Series a couple years ago, and it was sweet vindication to ridicule the people afterwards for their sappy bullshit about someone "deserving" a championship.

17. Actually, I don't think that's true --
Most of what I heard clearly focused on the likelihood that the Eagles would win. It's clear to me that Eagles fans are focused on a couple of quotes. They've blown a couple of quotes all out of proportion. It's quite hilarious.

ACK...don't use that phrase to describe the Eagles.

They're just the better team - none of that "Team of Destiny" crap because look where it got Green Bay!!

21. The Eagles are a team of destiny. No doubt about it --
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 02:52 PM by TopesJunkie
What else would get them a first down on 4th and 26? What else would keep the Packers coach from going for it on 4th and inches? There's only one explanation! Destiny.

It's destiny, Philadelphia, destiny!

On edit: If they win the Super Bowl, they are definitely a team of destiny.
