I have a friend who just got a really great job..in fact it's her first "office type" job. What would be a great gift for her? I was thinking maybe her very own desk mug might be nice, with some different teas. Is that too lame?

I know virtually nothing about indoor plants. What kind survives best in an office environment?

8. a peace lily likes any kind of light |
|
so even if she doesn't have a window, if there's plenty of artificial light, it will do well.

2. If she is a tea drinker |
|
have you seen the 'one cup' tea makers? My wife found one that works with loose tea. Its basically the size of a coffee cup, fill it with your loose tea and hot water. Then set it on top of your mug and it strains the tea directly into your mug. Very nice for an office, no mess.

4. I got my brother a nice leather briefcase |
|
but I understand if you do not wish to spend that much. I could alo suggest a leather legal pad holder, desk blotter, or other type of organization tool.
A rear view mirror for their computer monitor so that they can see if the boss is behind them might also be useful.
