3. Oh yes they are
Second story (Suskind interview IN the studio) on Today

and

The Fox morning show was trying to explain this away this morning. Their call in question was "Money Man Mouths off : "Treasury"-chest of knowledge or sellout?

Gues which one the Fox viewers chose. The standard line is that O'Neill didn't have access to info on WMD which of course is not true as he SAT ON THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL and received every memo as he was the Sec. of the freakin' Treasury. Oooops.

6. Not only did I see the O'Neill interview, did anybody find the following
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 10:04 AM by lovedems
story about the outsourcing of jobs to India interesting? "When you call about your credit card information, chances are you will be talking to somebody in India" and they show you how they are teaching English as part of the job and they are ACTUALLY being taught the definition of the phrase "quit yanking my chain". And that they all have given themselves "american names". I thought the O'Neill clip was great, followed up by the outsourcing of jobs, even better. I thought of it as a "double whammy".

10. Their line is "he was not taken seriously or listened to by anyone"..
Remember little weasel David Frum, the former Bush speech writer?...He's a Canadian who lives in Washington and appears on our TV up here periodically to inform us how we should be treating the Bush regime....Sure enough, he was on CTV bright and early this morning saying...."Nobody in the White House listened to O'Neill." He said that O'Neill was a successful businessman who came to Washington and thought people would defer to him and found out nobody was interested in his ideas...so he's bitter...He said O'Neill said nothing but wacky things....This is going to be how they try to kill the effect of O'Neill's book....Of course Frum forgot to mention that O'Neill worked for the Nixon and Ford White House too....He also said our New Prime Minister Paul Martin should be ready to "make up" with Bush...Uuugghh..:puke:

13. That's the "astroturf" down here, too. Started yesterday.
O'Neil is a "disgruntled ex-employee" with an ax to grind...."Nobody listened to his crazy ideas"..."Not a 'Team Player'..."

I think the former Secretary of the Treasury deserves a little more than to be brushed off like the mouthy guy from the mail room...
