"Stirring things up" by saying that I think it's wrong to teach an adolescent boy that it's ok to tell a girl that he loves her, just to get in her pants.

3. Advice like that coming from a parent is wrong. |

In a couple of years, there'll be a thread: "My son got a girl pregnant and she's suing for child support."

What happened?
Not that that doesn't happen coming from both sexes, but that would be wrong to teach a kid to say that.

for teaching that to his kid.
When I stated an opposing opinion, I was scolded for "stirring it up."

16. Not to sound super prudish |
|
but encouraging teens to have sex at all is morally questionable.
I know they'll do it anyway, but anything parents can do to postpone/minimize it is probably good.
Why? Teens are stupid, and they will have unprotected sex. They will either get pregnant, get VD, or have a huge drama scene 4/5 times.

Just because "they're gonna do it any way,"--well, it's up to the parents to establish boundaries, even if the parent knows that those boundaries will one day give way.

23. And frankly, I think the best way to get kids to not have sex |
|
is to teach them EVERYTHING about birth control, STD's, and the unpleasant parts of pregnancy.
I got a TMI overload in my high school health class that worked VERY well. :P

19. Well, I DID tell 'em I loved 'em. |
|
And, at that particular moment 'in time', I really thought I did. It was later that I kind of learned to understand that there might be a difference between hormonally induced, irresistable, urges and true affection.

She was on THEIR side, entirely and completely. "You treat your dates like the ladies they are. Or should be." Period.
OK, send me the PM. This sounds weird.
