Four and a half days .... still no ciggies
The cat has checked into a motel, the dog is hiding in the crawlspace, the SO has suddenly remembered an obligation he has to fulfill about 300 miles away. But still no ciggies....

BTW, Commit lozenges are sorta tasty.

4. good for you!
I'm trying to convince the SO that deserve a kitten if I quit for 3 months. He feels three cats and a dog are already enough. :(

But I haven't had a kitten in years... and the dog wants a baby friend.

12. Good work on the cold turkey thing. And yes you don't need any
more menagerie. As a matter of fact you could do
with less. But, one disaster at a time.

19. well
to be honest, I DO occasionally tether my dog to my left hand when I go for a walk. I know it's harsh, but I really get a kick out of dominating him.

The cats, though... they pretty much run things around here.

24. I just got my pup a "tough dog" collar
Black leather, with spikes! I know he's always wanted one and I figured at 13, he's probably old enough to wear one. :D

18. don't try to spar with him...
first-off, he's gone without cigs and is ready to snap.

secondly, you're distracting him when he should be beating his dog.

And, no, that's not a coloquialism.

farting contests and snoring competitions.

But he sucks at poker. He gets all waggy if he has two pair or better.

6. Thank you
I did quit years ago for over 3 years. Then, after an ugly breakup, I started again. Dumbest thing I'd done in many years. I was quite comfortable not smoking. Now I'm going through all that crap again.

11. My record is 9 days on the lozenges
The things really DO work.

Until you need a place to hide the bodies! :)

Good luck! Soon I'll be making the full "commitment," as opposed to the half-assed one I am now.

16. The gum makes me angry
Of course, when I'm not smoking, MOST things make me angry!

But, according to everything I've read, your best chance is with NRT, and your best NRT is with the lozenges.

One day at at time, bro: one day at a time.

36. My daughter has a friend who took epsom salts baths, and that
seemed to help pull the toxins out quicker. I have no scientific evidence to back that up, but hey, it helped this young woman to quit smoking.

But the cat probably just checked into the motel to have wild orgies. They will do that, you know. I hope you don't start smoking again when they send you the bill for the trashed room. :hi:
