5. Mahalo, KC2... pics to follow. Right now, we're just trying to get to the stacks of mail. |

Also voice mails and emails.
So much for "Hang loose" the day after vacation.

2. Anyone else think John Edwards should abandon his quest for the Presidency? |
|
My husband lost his first wife to stomach cancer in 1971, leaving him with three children.
He says the last months of inoperable cancer were very difficult -- he had to travel 75% of the time and help take care of his wife in and out of the hospital. The children spent that summer with their grandmother and aunt, and at the end, his sister and family had to move in with them.
I'm having a hard time with their decision -- now complicated to have the two small children out of school and with them on the presidential trail.
What do you say?

I don't. Not if they don't want to. I am a firm believer that people should live out their lives as they want to-- not what other people think.

6. Well said. But, do you think he has a real chance to be president? |

But not for that reason. I think Hillary has such a power machine, and so much money, that she will become the Democratic nominee. I could be wrong-- but, it's a gut feeling I have.

12. Why wouldn't he have a chance? |
|
He's got as good a chance as anyone else? What does his wife's cancer have to do with his "chance?"

14. Some people could feel that he wouldn't be able to fully focus on the presidency. |
|
I still think it's a two-person job (President and First Lady) and for that reason, I even had a problem with Howard Dean's wife, a Vermont doctor. She wasn't sick, but she didn't accompany her husband in his quest.
Just my opinion at this time.

It's up to them and if they want to carry on, then I support their decision.

Besides, it's his decision (Elizabeth insisted that he stay in), and our anecdotes don't apply to everyone else's situation.

17. Meat loaf and potatoes. I'm too tired for anything else... |
|
We couldn't bring in any fruits or vegetables to the mainland. Left celery and carrots and other goodies for the domestic staff at the timeshare.
To the store tomorrow, for sure!
How about you?

16. Story #1 -- How I Left My Jewelry in an Open Lock Box. |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-02-07 06:53 PM by Radio_Lady
There are some honest people in the world!
During the trip, we moved from the Hotel Alana in Honolulu to the Hilton timeshare, just a few blocks away, on Sunday, March 25.
The next evening, I went looking for a small black bag with my precious silver jewelry in it. (Nothing really expensive, just a lot of memories of Mexico and Nevada trips.) To my horror, I couldn't find it. "It's gone," I thought. However, I called the Hotel Alana and housekeeping said nothing had been found.
Then, I recalled I had locked up the jewelry in the box the night before. I had released the box but must have neglected to see the black bag in the dark lock box. I called back and asked the front desk clerk if the room had been rented on Sunday night. She said it hadn't. We suggested that we come back and look over the room with the manager as I thought I recalled leaving it in the safe.
When we got to the desk, the woman told us to go up to Floor 12 and there was the manager with the bag of silver trinkets in his hand.
I'll never do that again!
