No more HP either! buggy driver install software

Sheesh. I uninstall the bloody software, reboot, try to reinstall. The !^@%#$ installer claims another instance is running. It is not running.

All this because I can't scan a damn photo negative. The backlight lit but the main scanner light would not and give an error 22 which started this mess.

Of course, HP has no drivers on their website for Win XP. Just patches to go on top of existing installs. x(

Well, I know there's a problem. This scanner, thanks to extended warranty, gets to go back as well. $300 net, I think I can get both my Epson scanner and blank DVD+R discs. :eyes:

It's twice as expensive to replace parts and they have crumby support.

4. Yep, made my first call to them today

Guess where it went, the Satellite lag on the line was horrible, they have to use sat uplinks because the national Indian phone system is so unstable. So cluelessness was bouncing over the planet with glee!

Took 30 minutes to get a decent suggestion.
