2. The original is classic. I love the concept "end of the world, lets go to
the mall." The main differences that I can see are more characters and now the zombies are fast. Since the original is so great I have my reservations about this one, but I hope that I am wrong b/c this movie could totally rule!

3. Hell yeah!
Huge fan of the Romero flicks and zombie flicks in general. This update looks great and the zombies seem pretty fierce. Never heard of the director, though....

Now if someone would only make "I Am Legend" into a film-- my copies of "Last Man on Earth" and "The Omega Man" are just about worn out.

5. I checked the resumes of the director & screenwriter
First-time director - his previous experience is in commercials.

The screenwriter is responsible for the scripts to Scooby-Doo and its sequel, coming out soon.

Not exactly encouraging on either front. I'm also a big fan of the original and don't want to see it screwed with too badly. Roger Ebert actually gave it Four Stars way back when.

6. Scooby-Doo?
Ugh, I hope they don't fill it with all that self-satified, smarmy, "ironic" comments ala the "Scream" movies. The post-modern Horror-as-in-joke movie sucks and has run its course.

7. I know.
Like I said, not encouraging - but the trailers seem to indicate that they're taking the subject matter seriously.

Well...as seriously as a zombie movie set in a Wisconsin mall gets. ;) The original made some nice comments on consumerism, in addition to being a lot of fun.

4. Doesn't look as good as the original.
Which IMO was the best of the Dead series.

8. George Romero would be spinning in his grave
If he were dead. No Romero? No Savini?

No thanks...
