Alright Seattle! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! - Coffee Flavored STEAK?
<snip>

SEATTLE (Reuters) - The city that spawned America's obsession with strong, dark coffee is giving locals a popular new coffee-flavored steak, even while the mad cow scare that started in Washington state is putting some people off beef.

Rippe's, a local waterfront steak and seafood restaurant, began serving filet mignon steaks dusted with Starbucks Corp.'s dark espresso blend a few weeks ago and now has a runaway hit on its hands.

"The first night we tried it, about a third of the menu sold was the steak," said Chad MacKay, whose family runs several steak joints in the Seattle area.

MacKay said that the $29 steak, now dubbed the Seattle Signature Steak, was the brainchild of a waiter and a chef.

5. Well that doesn't beat tea flavored soup now, does it?
http://maki.typepad.com/justhungry/2004/01/ochazuke_rice_w.html

Actually they've used coffee and tea to flavor desserts for years, why not steaks?

I haven't tried the tea soup but be assured that I will.

6. Well if Seattle can use Starfucks coffee...
Maybe a steak joint here in Ol'Virginia can partner with Phillip Morris to roll their meat in tobacco!?

14. trof's Bourbon Steak:
I use ribeyes. Inch and a half thick if I can find 'em.
Splash liberally with Bourbon, sprinkle with Adolph's meat tenderizer, pierce with fork several times to let tenderizer and bourbon in.
Sprinkle favorite dry rub on. I like Montreal Steak Seasoning, among others.
Let 'set' for 20-30 minutes and then repeat process on other side.
Fork tender and YUMMY!

21. If you're dreaming about country ham, grits and red-eye gravy
at this point in the morning, you possibly should have eaten more for breakfast. Anyway, you left out the big, fluffy homemade biscuits.

:-)
