3. That live performance was damn good also.
It cracks me up a bit reading the comments from people who evidently didn't know that Michael Stipe hasn't always had a shaved head. "OMG! He had HAIR? Why didn't somebody TELL ME??" :eyes:

i remember trying to decipher his lyrics so we could cover them in my band.

We were playing Radio Free Europe in our band back in '84. No one ever heard of REM...

I saw them around that time in a little dive in Greensboro NC across from UNCG. My friend and I were dancing right up front and so close Mike Stipe played with our hair! Weeeeeee!
