it's been 8 hours and part of my face is still numb.....Actually for about 4 hours I looked like I had a stroke half of my face was without muscle tone. Has this ever happened to anyone? How long is your face usually numb?

1. depending on the part of the mouth |
|
they placed the numbing agent, which depends on the tooth and the nerves. Certain ones take more novacaine (?) shots than others which results in longer numbing effects.
did they give you any painkillers to take home? If so, it's important to take them on schedule as prescribed and not until the pain sets in.
put an icepack on it too which can help as the numbing wears off.
hope you feel better soon. dp

The doc wouldn't let me drive home.
Wrote me a prescription for two bottles of 20 year old Scotch. I don't remember if I lived or not...

... and I'm still numbed for having had that experience. Eating with dentures is quite the chore, so I do my best to make tender, savory dishes.
I'd best go check on the boiled cabbage. Tomorrow's dinner is going to be quite a treat for a guy with plastic choppers. Steak, ham, cabbage, and asparagus.
Dammit! The puppy peed on the floor again! How many times a day should I have to change my socks?

of good painkillers - percodan, codeine if you're really lucky. Save them all for later recreational use.
