And the first two Hitchhiker's Guide cast members are... |
|
The BBCi Films broke a major exclusive about THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY movie, namely, which two actors will be starring in the film: Martin Freeman (LOVE ACTUALLY) will play Arthur Dent while Bill Nighy (UNDERWORLD) will play Slartibartfast. BBCi even got a quote from Nighy about his excitement for the project: http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&type_id=&cat_id=270338&obj_id=40594

1. This is the first I’ve heard they were going to remake HGG. |
|
I’m looking forward to seeing it. The books and the series were great.

I hope they do a better job on this than they did on the bad Dr. Who movies they produced with Peter Cushing way back when.
I tried for years to find the old PBS produced TV version of the original radio play but no luck..
Gotta go get my towel now, just in case.

12. The extras alone are worth the $$$... |
|
The TV version was expensive to make, even if it looks dated by today's standards. Just remember, things made today will look pretty tacky 20 years from now. That's why it's the content that counts, which is why most of the things made today will be total rubbish.
I still think it's good, and nobody could ever top Paddy Kingsland's awesome musical score. I wish they had kept the music on an isolated track...
But the extras. YUMMY. Lots of them and well done too.
The remastering of the episodes is good, though there is some color bleed, particularly with the red... Oh well.

10. do people here remember the radio show of the book? |
|
we got it for my dad on cassette about ten years ago for xmas. That and the radio program of the hobbit also. rather expensive then but well worth it. We used to listen to it when it originally aired on the radio when I was a youngstr and coming home from school
