Brrrr. It's -12 right now with wind chills @ -40 to -50
for the next few days. :-(

Northeasterners familiar w/Mt Washington... the news said this morning that it's -40 there with sustained wind gusts of 75mph giving it a wind chill factor of -100.

1. Haven't seen you in a while!
I don't envy you. At least in the summer you get up to a tropical 32!

2. Mary, leave Maine!
Hell, it's even better here in Ohio.

Of course, my home 12 years from now (Costa Rica) is even warmer......

5. Mt. Washington - worst recorded weather on earth
I used to climb Mt. Washington and ski Tuckerman's Ravine every Spring(not in January!).

Mary - come to your senses and Colorado. Today in Denver I hit golf balls in 63-degree heat. After seeing the Rockies 33 years ago, I never looked back. Visit Vermont & NH in September, yes, but live there, no. In the winter of 1968, I spent 30 consecutive days in Middlebury, Vermont when the highest recorded temp. was one degree above zero. 'Nuff said.

7. DSI - it's you again!
It was too bad - I was a poor scholarship kid at Midd. College surrounded by mostly silver-spoon snobs. Fortunately, one can always find a few good souls, and it turned out to be a great 4 years, complete with superb fishing, hiking, skiing, even a little learning.

It's cold everywhere! Even inside! The law library was too much to take, I had to leave before I could finish my reading.

Now, about that bill to require paper backups to electronic voting - Hannah's bill. I couldn't make the hearing yesterday but it sounds like a good thing.
