Thanks to all who gave me wedding invitation advice |
|
We found some very, very nice invite blanks, with envelopes, seals, response cards and envelopes, for less than $60. We've chosen a very nice Celtic-style font and will be printing everything on Haruka's good printer.
Deciding offset/flat printing is as good as embossing saved up $300+.
I never, ever would have thought of the blanks -- so thank you again!

We really hope the big day is just as gorgeous as the day we married in Sarasota!

2. I hope it's a nice day, too |

If it isn't, then it isn't!
How's the missus? Tell her I said hello.

That's quite a savings too.

6. Why did you edit out the embossing offer? |
|
Decided it was too much work?

fart.
Not sure if it would work with the printed invitations after all.
It's super easy & cheap but I've only done it with stamped invitations & stamped designs on cards or scrapbook pages.
You can get embossing powder at the craft stores, in comes in several colors & is under $5 for a bottle. I used the one bottle hundreds of times. You apply it to wet ink then shake off excess like you do when gluing glitter. So it's used over & over.
Then you hold it face down over a source of heat, I used my electric stove burner, pass it over the heat a couple of times until it puffs up a little. Looks just like the pro job for a fraction of the cost.
Like I said I'm not sure now if it would work with the printed invitations though. The ink would probably be too dry for the embossing powder to stick.

I've received some obviously expensive invitations, and some not so...and you know what, except for those that save them as souvenirs, they all eventually end up in the circular file. It's the information that's important!
