Puke Alert - My poor mother is so misguided |
|
The Pope is visiting Washington, D.C. and President Bush takes him out for an afternoon on the Potomac...sailing on the presidential yacht, the Sequoia. They're admiring the sights when, all of a sudden, the Pope's hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water. Secret service guys start to launch a boat, but Bush waves them off, saying, "Wait, wait. I'll take care of this. Don't worry."
Bush then steps off the yacht onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Holy Father's little hat, bends over and picks it up, then walks back to the yacht and climbs aboard. He hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence. The next morning the topic of conversation among Democrats on the Hill, in the New York Times and Washington Post, Hollywood celebrities, Batya Stein, Colin Kessel, Miriam Frank and all over in France and Germany is:
"Bush Can't Swim." :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

1. This happens in real life too |

Robert Stanfield, former Conservative leader who never quite made it to Prime Minister, died recently. He once had a photo op at a football game. He was tossed the ball 11 times, 10 times he caught it nicely, fumbled it only once. So what picture was in every paper in the country the next day? The fumble, of course.
Kinda like Jerry Ford walking down the steps off the airplane. He did it dozens of times without incident, but we all remember the shot of him heading face first into the runway.

Stanfield did actually catch the ball 10 out of 11 times.
Bush on the other hand, can barely stand up straight, let alone ever walk on water.
