Need Wmp9 help
I'm trying to watch Symbolman's Scarborough segment, but it's not coming up for me.

I downloaded the file to be certain.

I'm using wmp9 on win98

The error message says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play this file. Connect to the Internet or insert the removable media on which the file is located, and then try to play the file again"

Help? Suggestions?

1. Do you have Win98 Second Edition?

When I tried to instal WMP9, I got a message it would only run on Win 98SE 2000 & XP, although the Microsoft download link just said Win98 and didn't specify Second Edition.

4. Hmm
this may be the problem. I've got regular Vanilla win98. And you're right, the download window didn't specify win98 or 98SE.

Would wmp7 work with vanilla win98?

2. make sure you've got the *.wmv file
not the real player *.rm file

WMP9 should play the *.wmv...hell, I've got it playing in my Winamp 5.0

10. Solved it...
It's been a while (months) since I installed it, and I hadn't had a chance to set some of the options.

Sorry for the confusion.

It is working now and I did get to see Symbolman.

Interestingly, Scarborough seems to have liked the idea of the moveon.org ad search.

Thanks guys for all for your help!
