And responding to another post on the same subject. Actually my 11-year old daughter fond a $50 walking home from school last year. What a find for a young kid! We told her to wait a few days and see if anyone reported it missing from school. No one did and it was hers! I never have that kind of luck. n

9. I found a $50 bill at my apartment complex. |
|
I was friends with the manager, so I had her ask around to see if anyone lost money recently. I figured $50 is an unusual enough denomination, that if they could name the amount, it was theirs. Turns out my neighbor's college-age daughter lost it while washing her car (fell out of her pocket). I ran into her the next day and handed her the money. (Embarrassing point: I had already broken it to buy beer, but she didn't care.) I know $50 means a hell of a lot more to a 21-year-old student than it does to a middle-aged married guy. Besides, I figure I'm not really out any money if I'm back where I started.
So this is a long way of saying it depends on where you found it, and who may have lost it.

10. Yes, keep it; but make sure it isn't counterfeit... |
|
That would take the fun out of having it.
