Minnesota Timberwolves fans, any here?
I really dont watch the NBA much but have been happy to see the Twolves doing well for a few reasons. one, I like Garnett, he was the only recent straight from high school player I thought would have an impact right away, plus he seems to have a decent head on his shoulders. two, the freakin' mayor. Hoiberg was a high school nemesis of ours but I've been following his career as a pro. He's a good ballplayer, just wish he would pull the trigger more. He's a pure shooter and can really hit 'em when he gets his groove going.

one thing I dont like about the T-wolves, Sprewell. Maybe he's grown up finally but I still remember him in NY.

1. HELLZ YEAH, DUDE!!!! GOOOO WOLVES!!!!
I like the impact Trenton Hassell has had. Sam Cassell and Spree are also something else. KG looked like he twisted his ankle at New Orleans last night, but he just put pressure on it and walked it off. Jim Peterson, the TV announcer, said something like "He does something to his foot, puts pressure on it or something, so that it doesn't hurt him. What a warrior!!!"

We play the Spurs tonight. If we win, we take sole possession of 1st in the division, and have the advantage in the standings.

2. Yep.
I'm glad they added Cassell and Sprewell. It will be interesting to see what happens when Hudson and Szczerbiak come back.

3. You mean the Timberwolves who LIED and stole Rick Mahorn
from the Pistons, during expansion, when they promised not to?

If I had my way, they would never win a game.

7. If he was such a crappy player, why did they steal him?
The point was, they lied. I hate them! Always will! :)

I will always hate them.

4. Terry,
I'm a suffering Blazer fan. I'm hoping we trade Rasheed Wallace!

The Wolves play the Spurs tonight. Whoever wins that game will take the lead in the Midwest division.

16. The Kings got the royal shaft in that series.
I still don't trust the calls of NBA refs because of that.

I understand how you feel. I'm a Minnesota Vikings fan.;)

19. Best of luck to the Pups tonight
This should be a great game, so of course the geniuses at the networks aren't televising it. Just like they didn't televise the Spurs/Pacers game the other night.

At this point, it's a complete tossup who wins MVP between KG and Duncan. Although I'm a Spurs fan, I won't be upset if KG gets it. He probably will, simply because the media is loathe to give it to the same guy three years in a row. The only way TD wins it is if we go on another 19-1 run like we just had to close out the season. Sort of like we did last year.

Either way, our signing of Charlie Ward I think plugged our last hole. Rings in San Antonio again this year. But the Wolves are going to finally win a series. Maybe you can take the Lakeshow out in the first round, because I think the Lakers are going to be down around a six or seven seed come the playoffs.

25. Wow, he did
I think he was burning his agent. That is one agent that needs to be fired.

Do you realise he gave up 2.2 million for 3 years to play for the champions, and signed with the freaking Hawks for 1.1 million for 2 years instead? :wtf: His agent is a moron. Popovich TOLD him we didn't have time for games, and Popovich never ever lies to his players. That's one reason he's able to pull off deals like getting Ward to sign for the vet minimum. He's straight up, and players appreciate that.

That Midwest division is scary as hell, isn't it?

And have you seen realignment next year? The Soutwest Division: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, New Orleans, Memphis. That could be the most potent division in NBA history. Except for the Midwest this year.

The Southeast next year is going to suck. I am actually picking the Charlotte Bobcats, an expansion team, to win the division and thereby make the playoffs, first expansion team ever to do so.

SE division: Charlotte, Washington, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta. (Technically, Memphis should be here, but then we're missing a team in the West, and who do you move? Chicago? Minnesota really should move east, as should New Orleans and Memphis, but that's three teams extra in the East. The only other option is to scrap the whole East/West thing, which I'd like to have seen them do anyway, and just go with divisions and a 1-16 seeding in the playoffs.)

I'm still picking San Antonio to win the Midwest. Minnesota has been playing a bit more consistently. San Antonio started horribly, as usual, and since then has been just ripping it up. Most people forget that we play .700 or .800 ball after the All Star break every year. We just play .500 ball the first couple of months while everyone learns Pop's defensive system.

We're on the way to setting an NBA record for Points per Game against, btw.

26. Honestly
I just want to watch this one. This is the sort of game I hope is like the Spurs/Pacers game, just a great game between classy franchises that respect each other and will play their hearts out. Good honest rivalry is a blast.

If David Stern was the marketing genius people said he was, he'd have forced ABC to air this one. This is the sort of game that should be making the NBA. Garnett and Duncan? How can you not love watching these guys play? It's like Magic and Bird and Dr J come back to life, all-time greats at the peak of their game. Instead, we'll hear more about how the Lakers are going to win it all, and how the Spurs are boring, and how the T'Wolves are "big market" enough, or some crap like that.

The media for the NBA are pathetic. If it's not LA or TMac or 'Bron, they can't figure it out. They can't figure out how to explain to people what a good defense is, so they call it boring.

They spent the entire year last year saying the Spurs and the East were boring. The only games they televised were Lakers, Sixers, and Magic. Then the Finals were the Spurs and the Nets, and the rating stunk, and the media geniuses were surprised. D'oh!
