Crazy College Dorm Hyginks...
What crazy crap did you do to your roommate in the dorms in college? Tonight a friend of ours was asleep, and his roommate did the old "hand in warm water, watch him piss his pants" trick. He's unrepentant, and the friend that pissed himself is angry as hell, missing in action for the last hour. So funny. Anyway, it got me thinking...What did you guys do to friends in college or where ever? And do you have any fun ideas for payback?

1. If people would leave their doors unlocked...
We would steal them. Just pull out the hinge pins and make off with their door... Much fun was had by all!

Gawd I miss those guys....but I will see one this weekend. "We're gonna get ripped just like old times!"

It's cool to meet up with "old college buddies"

4. i didn't do this one but a friend of mine did...
He got really pissed off at the people living below him, so he went down to visit one day just to see how the air ducts worked and if they were connected. turns out they were, which was going to work towards his advantage.

he proceeded to go out the next weekend and collect about 150 spiders and put them in a jar. he also cut a piece of plywood the same size as the vent. he unscrewed the vent, dumped the spiders down into the people's room, then put the plywood over the vent so they couldn't come back into his room. all the spiders went straight into the offending assholes room causing untold amounts of chaos.

that's my best one, and i wasn't even involved...

22. I'll bite, since in a later post you revealed you're a college student....
"LP" = "long-play" record -- a vinyl record, a licorice pizza, a 33rpm album.

"Jacket" = the cardboard thing an LP came in.

My god.... I'm only 40 and I'm already telling someone how it was in the old days. What's next? Describing a wall phone?

6. I stole a dorm-mates car keys while he was asleep and made a copy.
At least once or twice a week, I'd move his car around the parking lot and watch him wander around the following morning wondering where he parked it. Simple pleasures.

8. I don't care very much for pranks
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 10:55 PM by bluestateguy
By my own admission I don't have much of a sense of humor, and midway through my freshman year I asked to be excluded from any "prank wars". Most of my hallmates honored that request.

9. I was the king of booby traps in my frat house

The average booby trap would involve a bucket of something dropping on someone’s head. I was a night owl so every night before I went to bed I would randomly booby trap a few of the bed rooms and all of the bathrooms (you would be surprised but people never learned to check their doors every morning.)

Another cool trick is taking a few of those axe effect bottles (gross cologne stuff) and using some duct tape and a pen top to taped the button down and tossing them into someone’s room.

Have a friend taking a shower? Try pouring a bucket of ice water on them, or a bag of flour; both are sweet, the ice water for the high-pitched scream, and the flower because it turns into cement in their hair.

Of course you can’t forget that if someone falls asleep (passes out) with their shoes on they forfeit all of their rights as a person. Drawing vulgarities on their faces with permanent marker, giving fun hair cuts, and dressing them up on woman’s clothing are standards.

There are many more but I’m afraid they may offend some of the DUers delicate sensibilities.

11. Oh, the things I've seen...
My personal favorite is this one:

One of my friends was working on a paper, so his door was closed. He forgot to lock it, though, which turned out to be a mistake (he usually does when he's working, so this is pretty much a perfect opportunity. Somebody swung his door open, screamed unintelligibly, then threw a small pack of tissues at his head. They ran around the halls for about an hour before my friend gave up.

14. My roomate got very drunk at a party...
Edited on Thu Jan-15-04 12:02 AM by Rowdyboy
and passed out naked, in bed in our room. I had been at the same party with my two best friends and returned to the room for my stash (it was 1973). After we got in the room, we tried to wake Charley so he could continue to party. When he refused, we emptied the refrigerator and smeared jam, peanut butter and mayonaise on him. Then we added shaving cream and a few grapes. Then we left, slamming the door which finally woke Charley. He thought someone was breaking in and threw a boot which broke out two panes of glass!

All in all, a good time was had by all.

on edit: this was a small, pretty well rated, private school-not some party school. We were just really nuts at the time.

15. here's a few, warning at least one could force serious reprimand
ok let's start out light. drawing on people with permanent marker when they passed out - can't think of one person who didn't go to dinner on the weekends or class on friday with a huge, faded but still obvious penis on their forehead. or the girl who was practically painted head to toe (except for where clothing coverd) with permanent marker. needless to say she was pissed, didn't come around for a whole semester I believe

propping up wastebaskets filled with water against people's doors so when they got up at night or in the morning to go shower or whatever, floor is drenched with water

one guy actually took a full 32oz mug of water and walked around the dorm until he found a door that was closed yet unlocked and then opened it to find some poor guy studying and jst threw the water on him and ran like hell after slamming the door shut - it was such an odd thing to do

careful with this next one
one of my old roommates was too lazy to walk to the restroom when we would be drinking in his room so he would always piss in this glass beer mug and leave it sitting on top of the dresser. one night about ten or so people were over drinking and someone was offered a drink of beer from the pitcher. sure as hell looked like beer but I guess it didn't taste like beer. got him back though, a couple of guys pissed in a bottle of beer and put the lid back on and gave it to him to drink. He caught on after a drink, none too happy either

This one's harder to duplicate and got a few people in trouble
Our dorms were rather old and so the mens showers were basicallly one big room with six or seven shower heads in it and a drain in the middle of the floor, no privacy. Well, some guys in the next "house" got the idea to make a hot tub. They clogged up the drain with paper towels and put a large piece of plywood on it's side across the door so and secured it there with I dont know what. The board gave them about three feet or so of depth. They then turned on all the showers and let 'em run filling up the "tub". I believe they actually got it close to capacity bfore an RA found them all sitting in the hot tub. Nobody got kicked out but I think they were all on final warning after that

16. My son went to an Engineering school - 95% male...
with too many brains for their own good..

There are a few of the things he actually told me about, I hate to think about what he didn't tell me..

Duct taped one of the guys to his desk chair, put him on the elevator and pushed all the buttons.

Built a potato gun and shot gym socks down the halls. When they got caught they tried to say it was an experiment on trajectory and velocity but it didn't work.

Used a large projector to show porn movies outside on the wall of the girls only dorm.

17. Heh...It was spring of 2001...my freshman year...
and we had a kick-ass thunderstorm going on that night. The electricity was out and it was about 11:00 pm.

My brother and I were looking for something to do so we went into these two girls' room and talked to them for a little while. Their room was right next to mine. They were looking outside and watching the storm and whatnot. Mind you, we lived on a ground-level dorm.

Anyways, my brother and I were finding stuff to do after we were talking to the girls. He noticed a Halloween mask of mine sitting on my desk. He told me to put it on and go outside and scare the living hell out of the girls when lightning would strike.

So I went outside and did it. The girls screamed at the top of their lungs! They nearly had a heart attack! It was funny as hell.

Sigh. I miss my freshman year. :(

19. Duct-taping doors and midnight kidnappings
We've had fun ducttaping people shut in their doors (as in covering their door from top top bottom in duct tape so they can't get out. Occasionally some of us ultimate frisbee players will kidnap the entire team at 4 am and make them shotgun beers and take shots of Black Watch vodka and play frisbee golf with us.

21. Freshman year, fall 1980
Some of the dorms at my university were grouped in fours around a city block. These high-rise dorms would face each other across the block/unit.

I lived on the second floor, but on the third floor the guys took up a hobby in "funnelators." Don't know exactly why they were called that, but a funnelator was basically a huge slingshot using surgical tubing. The two anchors points of the slingshot could be held 10 feet apart.

Anyway, these guys rigged up funnelator and launched a ball (can't remember what type) out of a window at the opposite dorm. The projectile flew over the interior quad, about 80 yards, and exploded a window like a cannon.

Being physics majors and such, the second-floor guys calculated that the projectile was moving at over 100 mph on impact. Luckily, no one was hurt. This act became known as The Funnelator Incident.

About half a dozen people were expelled.

27. The Bungee Door
Lived in the frat house.
One of the brothers went home for the week end, just before finals.
We first moved all of his furniture and belongings out. Distributed them from basement to attic.

Then we attached a long bungee cord to the inside doorknob and stretched it across to the opposite window sill. Took the hinge pins out, and c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y set the door in the frame. The only thing holding it in was the doorknob latch. This took some delicate maneuvering.

When he returned and opened the door it sprang from his hand and slammed against the wall, and there was a completely empty room.
We wuz baaaad boys.
;-)
