OFFICIAL - Pixies Reform to headline Coachella with Radiohead, Kraftwerk
http://www.nme.com/news/107239.htm

PIXIES are to reunite for this year's COACHELLA festival in the US.
The indie rock legends will headline the bash alongside Radiohead and Kraftwerk.
All three bands will headline the first day of the festival, which takes place at Empire Polo Field, Indio, California on May 1/2. Organisers are still finalising contracts with dozens of other bands, including headliners for the festival's second day.
The news is the first official confirmation of the Pixies much-anticipated reunion following their split in 1993. Speculation has been rife for months now that the band would be playing shows in 2004, although no dates beyond Coachella have been confirmed yet, though more shows in the US and UK are strongly rumoured to be taking place later in the year.
What is definite is that the band's former label 4AD are to release a 'best of' album and DVD sometime this year. The DVD will feature eight Pixies videos, a 1988 concert taped at London's Town And Country Club and the documentary 'Gouge', which features interviews with Radiohead's Thom Yorke, David Bowie and Bono.

4. Am I the only one who thought "Doolittle" was a little better
than "Surfer Rosa"? Evidently so.

5. You're not alone.
I think Surfer Rosa is better, slightly, but I know folks who feel as you do.

8. The Pixies, Kraftwerk & Radiohead? Excellent.
I'm hoping that this tour lineup makes it to the Chicagoland area.

I know that Yorke is a big fan of the Pixies. I'll bet he's as excited about this as anyone.

I've never seen the Pixies. I did see Kraftwerk, about 20 years ago. Radiohead is one of the best live bands I've ever seen. This should be some show.

If you haven't been on the Kraftwerk website, do yourself a favor and check it out. It's really fun.

10. Love the Pixies
When I started listening to the Pixies, they were just some obscure band that nobody had ever heard of. Now I am amazed when I listen to the radio and there are so many bands that have obviously been influenced by the Pixies. Hopefully I'll be able to catch them on tour!

11. HOLY FREAKING SHIT!!!!!
I got to see them on the "Doolittle" tour w/ Love & Rockets in 1989. A fantastic show-- in my top five for sure (and I've seen some pretty amazing shows in my 34 years).

That sounds like a blast. I wonder if Frankie will go back to calling himself Black Francis for the occassion?
