When your living with other people |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-30-07 08:55 PM by Liberalynn
do you always notice that when ever the subject of cleaning/throwing out stuff comes up, they always want to start with your stuff and never there own, and then when you mention that they get huffy?
My Mom and my sister (who just visits on the weekend) start griping about my dog and cat food supplies which I used everyday by the way, and how they look "messy." When they got paint stuff they never use and plant stuff all over but yet somehow the mess is all my fault.
sigh. I know I am in a bitchy mood and just over reacting and now I have them both mad at me and I do care, but sometimes I just feel like nine times out of ten, I am made the scape goat. Maybe I should go apply for the War Tsar job. I am used to getting thrown under the bus.
I wish I had the money and the independence enough to go live out in the back woods someplace with only my pets, the television, books, and my P.C. for company.

1. Well, it could be worse -- you could be me! |
|
I am (supposedly) packing up things as fast as I can and sorting through my big pile of unnecessary stuff to pare down my belongings to a manageable level. In fact, I have four more days to get it done before my help with the packing it outahere part comes.
And when this is done, I shall NEVER be this way again. I have imagined, even, how freeing it would be if my place just burned down and I lost everything. Except, of course, my cat. How freeing that would be! No more clutter! No more baggage! No more fear of 'what if I ever have to MOVE?'
Because, you see, I am a rentor. My place didn't burn down so I get to do it myself.
I would, in other words, be described as the Roommate From Hell!

2. Good luck with the sorting and your move. |
|
 The clutter can get overwhelming. I can relate to throwing out the things you don't use or need anymore.

3. Sharing space isn't easy |
|
At least not always. I had a friend in my late teens, early 20's - we shared a place on a few occasions. Every time, we'd live together for about 8 or 9 months and by that time, we'd be on each other's nerves so bad we'd have a big fight and one of us would move out.
Then we'd run into each other in the bar a month or two later and laugh about it and next thing you knew, we'd be sharing a place again. And the same thing would happen.
We're still friends, 25 years later but it is hard to share space. Sometimes you have to just walk away and get some fresh air.

4. I've been there, that was my mother. |
|
She'd throw away my stuff in a Tennessee minute, but her stuff, no way. When she died we had a hell of a time getting rid of all the junk she'd squirreled away over the decades.
"but sometimes I just feel like nine times out of ten, I am made the scape goat."
I feel your pain--BTDT.
Hope you can move out soon.
